Nonprofit Organization for Providing Food to Underprivileged Families
Network of families Inc is a nonprofit organization that provides underprivileged families with access to shelf-stable food by utilizing our partnerships with local food banks. Through various initiatives, we ensure that no family goes hungry. Contact us to learn more about our services.
What We Do
One of the primary ways we support underprivileged families is by establishing food pantries in local schools (elementary, middle, and high schools). These food pantries serve as a lifeline for students and their families, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals during the school day.
Since 2019, we have been organizing pop-up markets in areas where children from low-income families reside. These events involve food distribution to ensure families have enough food at home. By bringing food to these communities, we are addressing immediate needs and fostering a sense of support and community.
There is no ID requirement. Recipients only need to visit once every three months and provide proof of income to be eligible for our assistance.

LEARN MORECollaborations for Community Impact
To maximize our impact, we collaborate with various organizations and partners. We work closely with churches, other nonprofit organizations, and even the City of Durham to supply shelf-stable food at community events. Examples include World Hunger Day, where we come together to raise awareness and assist those in need. Additionally, since 2021, we have partnered with healthcare organizations to address the food needs of low-income families and host family-friendly events.
Extending Help to Various Communities
Food insecurity affects underprivileged families in every community, often slipping under the radar. At our organization, our efforts extend beyond assisting low-income households. We also lend a hand to senior citizen communities where income might not be enough to cover essential expenses like food and medication.
In addition, we support grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. Unfortunately, these grandparents often do not qualify for government assistance due to their familial relationship.
Our organization understands that transportation can also pose a significant challenge for seniors. That is why our volunteers are available to help carry heavy boxes of food to their porch or door. Additionally, our team helps in arranging and putting the shelf’ stable food in the home, ensuring hassle-free management. This way, seniors don’t have to worry about the inconvenience of transportation or lifting heavy boxes.
